Notes about how I use Ion3

NOTE: I stopped using Ion3 when the author changed the license to be very restrictive and generally selfish. I changed to Xfce because it is pretty sweet, and much nicer to use.

To start applications when logging in, if using gdm, add them to ~/.profile

Example:

 xscreensaver -nosplash &
 display -window root ~/photos/2005_fall/kelley/pc087372.jpg

To start applications when starting X from the command line, add them to ~/.xinitrc

Example:

 xscreensaver -nosplash &
 display -window root ~/photos/2005_fall/kelley/pc087372.jpg

 #Now start the window manager
 /usr/bin/ion3
